Yarn stuff 011

Well my goodness!  Are we surprised at the blogging lapse?

I think not.

There have been some changes since my last post.  In the interim my father in law passed over from pancreatic cancer and my mother in law was diagnosed with 2 different breast cancers.   She has since had a mastectomy and is now undergoing radiation treatment, which, for 5 weeks, means daily weekday trips to Orange which is around a 45 minute drive each way.

The treatment is fast, simple and painless and is simply precautionary as the doctor feels that all the cancer was removed during surgery – so that’s good news.

The other good news is that Orange is home to Caboodle, which a cute little gift shop that houses a store of delightful yarns in a small room at the back.  Today I paid my second visit there and got some more of these circular needles that I have fallen completely in love with.  They have made my knitting addiction even more pronounced.

They are knitpro Symfonie – and I don’t want to knit with anything else.

Here they are posing with the just begun sleeves on a jumper begun some time back and rediscovered.  I’m adapting the pattern as I go to make it what I want, so I’m beginning to get a bit daring with my knitting ventures these day.

The jumper just needs the sleeves and the neckline and after sewing up – easy peasy – it’ll be all done.

The yarn is from the Bendigo Woollen Mills and is a blend of wool, silk and mohair – and is just gorgeous to knit with.

So, with that yarn and my smooth new needles I’ve got some serious knitty bliss going on.
